A Couple Favorites

This morning Reed agreed to a photo op after his bath. He was having too much fun! Here's a video to start with:
And here are some of my favorites. You can view the rest by clicking on the album to the right. He got up on his knees all by himself!
He's going to take off very soon!

I think this one was, "Okay, Mom. Enough photos." But I love it anyway!

Baseball talk and good mornings

Last night one of those sweet moments where you're reminded, "This is why we had a child," occurred. We were getting ready for bed and getting ready to put Reed down in his crib, and he was just not ready for bed at all. So we took him back to our bedroom for a few minutes so he could relax. He and Michael ended up having a conversation about baseball. Reed was talking away, and then would stop and look at Michael and wait on him to say something back. So this went back and forth for a few minutes, and they talked about spring training, the cubs, the braves, etc. It was one of those moments that I will tuck away to remember forever.

Then this morning, as if that wasn't sweet enough, I went in to check on him because it was passed the time he usually gets up and I hadn't heard anything, this is what I found. He was happy as could be and staring up at the mobile (which, by the way, is the single most amazing invention for babies). He sort of looked at me as if to say, "Go away, Mom. I'm busy." So I did. Got a few things done around the house and went back to check on him. This time he was back on his back, and seemed ready for me to get him. So I did.

Happy Birthday Reed, and Feel Better Dad!

Friday Reed turned a third of a year old! Four months old, a few inches taller, and double his birth weight. He's growing up so fast! Things I have learned in four months:
  1. My mother is an incredible woman.
  2. 'Gross' is a relative concept.
  3. When someone says, "What, I don't hear anything," at three in the morning, they are lying (including myself, I must admit!).
  4. What I want isn't always the most important.
  5. Babies change your life. Things that seemed so important four months ago aren't really that important now.
  6. Baby clothes need to come in more sizes.
  7. Baby smiles and laughs can change your mood instantly.
Reed and I have escaped to Granna and Papa T's for the weekend because Michael has the flu. Didn't want to get Reed sick! We've been playing and eating all kinds of yummy treats (be very jealous fellow fatty munchers). Granna sure does know how to treat us right!

Here's a picture from Sunday morning. Fun times reading the paper with Papa T! Oh, and today, Reed giggled for the first time. It was the sweetest sound I've ever heard!! Poor Michael missed it this time, but I'm sure there will be many, many more bouts of laughter in our future!

Paintings

So I finally finished the paintings for Reed's room that I have wanted to do since before he was born. But then I was too big to work on them (since I paint in the floor), and then afterwards I was either too sore or too busy. So four months later, I'm finished.

Joining the movement ...

So after a lot of pressure and a little time, we've decided to join the blog world. We'll be blogging about all the proud and not-so-proud moments of being new parents, and posting tons of pictures of Reed (of course!).

After spending the day working on my own template design for the page (since none of the blogger templates will do), we're finally here! Hopefully we'll get in the swing of things and begin posting often!
Thanks for visiting.
